The Dev-Mo Project. Semi-Supine Position. Flipper Movement of the Arms

Flipper Movement of the Arms

Another interesting way of advancing the arms on the ground is to use the hands and fingers as flippers.

If you place your hands palms up, you'll find that you can creep the hand along the ground by deviating your hand at the wrist and using the contact of your nails to move or pivot the hand along the ground.

In this action, the hand acts as a kind of flipper for moving the limb in an arc at the shoulder, making it possible to move the arm without tightening in the shoulder.

We'll look at this movement in more detail in later posts when we look at moving the limbs in the prone posture.
